The author identifies a BMW 120d, recorded outside with Earthworks QTC30 / Rode NT4.
This demo uses the publicly accessible compressed MP3 previews, not the original WAVs.
Four separate recordings: idle, low RPM, medium RPM, high RPM.
RPM estimates use their dominant firing harmonics; no source tachometer was supplied.
Above the highest captured anchor, playback speed increases; no extra high-RPM take is claimed.
Changes: mono downmix, 18-Hz highpass, 7.5-kHz lowpass, trimming,
whole-period length, two-period wrap crossfade, gain normalization.
Each RPM anchor plays ONE voice. Gas/brake change gain and lowpass filtering;
these are processed load changes, not separately recorded on/off-load states.
Virtual gears, rev-matching and additional exhaust pops remain simulated effects.
The four simulation profiles retain their MIT attribution in CREDITS.txt.
Reproduction: scripts/prepare-recorded-bank.py.
